I have made it home for the summer, and that means it's time to start relaxing. What better way to relax than to grab a good book and sit outside and dive in. I was reading through some of my favorite blogs and I saw that Sydney Luella posted her top choices and I knew I wanted to share mine as well! So without further ado, here are the books that are on the top of my reading list this summer!
Lost and Found by Nicole Williams is actually a book I have previously read. However has two books following it so I plan to re-read it and follow up with the next two books in the series. This book is the classic "dark, mysterious girl falls in love with the attractive cowboy." I thought it would be boring when I first read the description, but I wound up so entranced by it that I finished it within two days!
The White Umbrella: Walking with Survivors of Sex Trafficking has been one of those books on my list for a while. After attending Passion 2013 in Atlanta, GA, I told myself I would buy this a read it. However, life got busy and I never had time to do so. This book shares stories of sex trafficking survivors and sets in stone the fact that Sex Trafficking is still a big deal in today's society, and that it needs to stop.
Strange, I know. This book can only be described as strange, and I think that is the main reason why I want to read it. I have been tempted by this book every single time I have gone to Walmart... ever. single. time. I have yet to give in and get it though, but I feel that will soon change. The book uses photographs to enhance the readers emotions throughout the story, which I feel will be useful when I "explore" this abandoned orphanage. Also, there are more books that follow this one... So I will probably be reading those as well.
I will also be giving into peer pressure ans reading the Divergent series this summer. I may follow up by seeing the movie as well! I am actually looking forward to reading these books... enough said.
This book is another book that has been on my reading list for a while. It is a book that has been recommended to me numerous times and is also soon to be a movie. I want to read this book before the movie comes out! If you would like to read one of my blogger friend's reviews on this book, go here!
Last but certainly not least, I will be diving head first into a memoir by Sarah Thebarge. This book follows the real life story of Thebarge as she leaves everything she knows following a near death experience and moves over 3000 miles away. It follows her story as she meets a struggling family of Somali refugees and assists them in making a life for themselves in America.
I will keep an update of how my reading progress is going! Be on the lookout for potential reviews!

Beth
