Five Ways to Start Your Week Right

This post is sponsored by General Mills, all content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Monday again. It comes every week but for me this Monday is tougher than most. After finishing up spring break it is nearly impossible to get back to the school and work grind. Add to that an unexpectedly busy spring break without a moment to relax and I am already feeling worn out. However, it doesn't have to be just another Monday if we focus on making this our best week yet!
Here are my top five tips to start your week out right!

1. Seek Inspiration

I am one of those people that needs a lot of motivation just to get out of bed. I have began to counteract this by seeking motivation first thing in the morning and reflecting on that before I even think of moving. This helps me focus my energy and become encouraged to get up.

2. Eat a Great Breakfast

It is hard for me to lecture on this because so often I will grab something on the go or sprint out the door before I eat breakfast. This week I am focusing on sitting down and enjoying my breakfast. I will take the time to eat cereal and drink some juice to properly fuel me for the day!

3. Go to Bed Early

If you begin to feel tired around 9pm this week, don't hold out for your typical bedtime. Our bodies need rest and if yours is telling you to sleep then listen to it.

4. Write Down Your Goals

If  you do not set goals for yourself this week, what will you accomplish? Write them down where you can see them multiple times throughout the day to assure yourself that you will see them through.

5. Reward Yourself

Remember that you are not perfect, you will make mistakes, you will watch one too many episodes of Scandal. Even with failure, it is essential to reward yourself for the things you do accomplish. Do not be too hard on yourself. Eat a cookie or get a pedicure, just do something for yourself this week.

  3. To have a great week, I plan what I'll be doing the week before. I also make sure to clean my space so on Monday everything is where it needs to be. Clean clothing's, clean sheets, my lunch packed, appointments confirmed. I do this JUST for Monday so I can be on autopilot. I also start off each day by jotting down my day going perfectly, all the things I need to get done or hit upon. Then I read positive affirmations bc I'm in sales so I really pump myself up. ;) Hope you have a great week.

  6. Going to bed early is my problem. I aim to be in bed by 12 midnight and I am in bed but I am on the computer or my phone until about 2am. This doesn't make for a good Monday at all. Great tips!

  7. Great tips! I'm not much of a morning person. I'd love to go to bed earlier, but it's always a battle of wills with my children.

  9. I'm usually in bed early because I'm such a morning person. I've been up since 4 this morning. I like the peace and quiet of being the only one up and I get tons of work done. And I always look forward to eating breakfast around 7 or 8. Great tips!

  10. I have to plan out my week in order to have a great week. Otherwise, I don't get anything accomplished. Also, coffee is a big helper in starting off the week/day

  11. I love your "get inspired" and "write down goals". It's so awesome when you know what you are working for and can keep finding that inspiration everyday! I like to talk through goals with my boyfriend for motivation!

  12. I try to plan for a great week by preparing as much as I can- laying out outfits for the kids and I, making lunches, planning the menu. The fewer decisions I have to make during the week, the better.

  13. Enjoying my breakfast is SO important! To enjoy my week, I will treat myself to a nice maple soy chai latte or two

  15. I pray and make sure to have some me time

  16. I like to be mindful.... stay in the moment. If I think too much about the past or worry about the future it ruins the moment. Kinda simple, but it works to have a good week!

  19. I'm SUCH a fan of writing goals out for the day each morning! My go-to routine is waking up with coffee or tea and doing something for ME - watch a quick Ted Talk, read a great article, catch up on news- before diving into my email inbox.
