11 Verses for Overcoming Stress

If you are anything like me, you are already beginning to feel the back to college stress. While some of you may not be in college yet or may be long graduated, I am sure there are some points in your life where you feel the weight of stress on your shoulders. While I am not here to say I know everything (or even most things) about Bible verses and faith, I am here to share a few of my favorite verses to get me through the tough times.

Psalm 118:5-6  "When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;  he brought me into a spacious place. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?"

Psalm 32:8  "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go:  I will counsel you with my loving eye on you."

Proverbs 16:3  "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."

Proverbs 16:9  "In their hearts humans plan their course,  but the Lord establishes their steps."

Psalm 37:5-6  "Commit your way to the Lord;  trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun."

Philippians 4:6  "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Psalm 34:17  "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles."

Exodus 33:14  "The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

Jeremiah 31:25  "I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint."

Romans 16:20  "The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you."

Philippians 4:13  "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

Daily Schedule - Free Printable

If there is one thing to know about me it would be my obsession with making lists. At this current moment I can easily identify 8 lists scattered among my desk and bulletin boards. I have an obsession with planning out each day, yet I have never been able to find a daily schedule printable that works for me. To fix this, I decided to make my own and I am sharing it with all of my lovely readers! I hope you enjoy and find this useful!

H&M Haul

So an amazing thing happened in my life not long ago...

My local mall opened doors to a brand new H&M! I had to check it out and hit up the deals while they lasted. With a 15% student discount, I wound up spending $45 and getting four dresses and one shirt, which is a great deal!

Most of the items I picked up are staples for fall so I will have to wait a short while to wear them but a couple of the items can be worn right now. I am looking forward to styling them in the weeks to come.

This navy and gold stripped sweater dress will be a staple come fall at my school. When I saw that it was in my new school's colors, I had to purchase it. At $20 this was the most expensive piece I picked up at the opening!

This shirt was selling for $7 and I knew I could easily style it with black leggings and boots in the fall and winter so it also was a must have. I actually purchased it in a size larger than normal to allow more coverage over leggings.

Another steal at $7! I love the pattern on this dress and the drop waist. I can wear this dress now and then transition it into the fall later on.

The last piece I picked up for $7 was this super awesome leopard print skater dress. Of all the items I purchased, this one was definitely my favorite! It can be worn in all seasons depending on how it is styled!

The last item I purchased was this $10 black and white stripped dress which can be work now and in the fall and winter. I love the fact that the stripes on this dress are horizontal instead of vertical. I am excited to wear this dress out on dates with my lovely boyfriend.

Have you made any awesome purchases at H&M lately?

First Apartment Style

Wowweee! It sure has been a tough week! I am just now finally getting back into the swing of this whole college thing. After five days of class, four trips to the book store, three schedule changes, two hours of homework, and one week down, I am ready to kick back and enjoy the weekend. However, my form of kicking back is finally finishing decorating my apartment, traveling to my previous college for Bid Day, and lots and lots of homework. I am honestly looking forward to all those activities though! Today I accomplished (mostly) finishing my apartment. Everything but my desk is pretty, neat, and clean!

I decided to go with a color scheme of navy and gold with pink accents. It worked out very well until I moved it and had all black furniture, so I am rolling with the blue and black but no worries!

The majority of my room is dominated by my full size bed (take that Mercer dorm beds!) which has navy and white sheets and a white comforter. I actually have this same comforter in my at home bedroom. It is super fluffy and I loved it so much, I bought the same one for my apartment.

I kept my side table simple with a DIY cactus plant, a gold glitter mason jar pencil cup that I made with my sorority, and whatever this squirrel thing is! I saw the squirrel thing at a secondhand store for $1 and bought it just for decor purposes. If you happen to know what it is, please let me know!!

Beside my bed is my pride and joy! My DIY wall-art that I spent a good deal of time working on! It cost less that $15 total and was well worth it! All the frames were bought at my local Goodwill and the prints are either scrapbook paper or one I made. I (my boyfriend) made the splatter paint print with spray paint and it turned out great!

I hung two bulletin boards on the wall so I will have a place to hang notes and lists and all things cute and important.  It the corner, I added a cute little table where I sit my iPad and my small cupcake collection!

Honestly, if it were up to me, my entire room would be decorated in cupcakes; however, my mom told me I had to grow up and venture out from my cupcake obsession. A compromise led to this collection on a table I painted gold and pink! I am kind of obsessed with this section of my room.

Finally there is my dresser. The dresser itself is pretty beat up but at least the top of it looks good! I have a small section of Alpha Gamma Delta stuff featuring a print from MKM Designs and also another DIY cactus! I like to leave room on my dresser to sit jewelry or important papers on so that explains the huge gap!

So far, I am in love with my new apartment. I still have to finish organizing and decorating my desk, bathroom, living room, and kitchen but so far so good! I look forward to sharing more once I am finished!

Feel free to share links to your apartment style, and I will check them out!

Changing It Up

Where has the time gone!? No, seriously. The first week of my sophomore year is almost over and I haven't even realized it's gone. It has been 5 days since I have had free time to sit down and do some things I enjoy such as blogging or reading... I am forcing myself to take some "me" time right now (as I glance around at my messy apartment) and share some of the new experiences I have experienced this past week.

As you probably know by now, I transferred from a college with about 8,000 students to a college with over 25,000 students. This means my average class size has changed from about 30 to about 200. While it is a big difference, it is something I am taking in stride (and relishing in my class that has 17 students). I have taken buses to class and walked long distances through down pours which opposes my previous years experience when I would walk less than a half a mile to class. However, I am enjoying it. I am loving the chill atmosphere this college has to offer and I am enjoying not seeing the same people each day. I am even enjoying having a high school friend in one of my classes! I love the fact that I was able to change my schedule to only have one class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I love the fact that as I am writing this now, at 11 am, that I have been finished with today's classes for an hour already. To keep on with the positive, I love having my own apartment with my own bathroom and a shared kitchen and living room. I love the fact that I only have to walk 10 feet to wash my clothes and that I do not  have to pay for each load. I could honestly go on and on about the good but to spare you, I will stop now.

I have specific plans to finish cleaning and organizing my apartment and life tonight so that I will finally be able to share all the awesome DIYs I have done thus far. I plan to organize my books so I can be better prepared for college! I also plan to be back and active to my blog more-so than I have been lately.

I just want to take a moment to give you all a sneak peak of some of the cool art pieces are currently residing in my room!

This beautiful initial that my friend, Amanda, painted for me is currently hanging on one of my walls!

My Alpha Gamma Delta corner complete with squirrels and a painting by Mary Kathryn Designs!

My favorite project for my apartment would be this pink accent cactus!

Now I am off to get started with my long To-Do list!

First Apartment DIYs

Tomorrow is the day! I move into my new apartment!

I have been working hard these past few days to finish up some DIY projects for my new apartment and I am excited to be sharing my favorite one with you today! The others will come later!

My apartment comes with a bed, dresser, and desk but that is it. I went to Goodwill to pick up some cheap items to redo for it. I found this wonderful little TV table that I will be using at a side table for five dollars.

What I did was quite simple but it looks extremely elegant. It took two coats of white paint to cover the table fully and about 24 hours of dry time.

Once it was dry, I added a gold fleur de lis in the center with craft paint and sprayed a clear sealant over the surface and was done. I really do love how this table turned out (even though it isn't perfect).

I have also been searching other blogs for great DIY projects to try out next and these are my favorite:

Easy Wall Decor

Summer Succulents

Photo Display

Glittery Mason Jar

Gold Striped Glasses

Chevron and Glitter Countries

College Beauty Routine

*Valentia provided the Vitamin C Serum via Brandbacker for this post.

In five days I will be heading to my first class of the semester. I can't say I am super excited about my 8ams but I am definitely looking forward to being back on a campus. With the new semester ahead, I know that I am soon to be exposed to excessive amounts of bacteria and other disgusting things. With this exposure I find my skin breaking out more and my hair losing strength. To combat this, I am making small changes in my daily skin and hair care routine!

By incorporating vitamins and natural products into my daily routine, I have already seen slight results. I look forward to continuing this routine that I have developed throughout the semester.

For my hair routine I wash and condition daily with Mane 'n Tail shampoo and conditioner. On top of this, I use Creme of Nature Argan oil hair treatment once a week to strengthen dead ends. The Argan oil hair treatment has made a huge difference for my split ends!

My skin care routine has only changed slightly. I have been using the L'Oreal Go 360 Clean for over a year and I swear by it. It is the only face wash that doesn't cause my face to break out! I have added the Valentia Even Glow Serum containing Vitamin C to my daily routine and have noticed a slight difference in the week that I have been using it. My skin seems to have lost some of its typical redness, which is a great accomplishment in my books. At night time, I apply a moisturizer after the Even Glow Serum to keep my skin drying out. The moisturizer I use is the Expert brand from Target. I like this moisturizer because it only cost about five dollars and it works well for the price!

I am also re-introducing Biotin into my daily routine. I took Biotin last semester and it made a world of difference in my hair and nails, but when summer came around I started slacking and eventually quit taking it all together. However, I know the move is going to take its toll on my hair and nails and skin in many ways, so this little vitamin is making its way back into my daily routine!

What products are in your daily routine?

Greek Is Me // Sponsored Post

* Greek Is Me provided a decal to me free of charge; however, all opinions expressed are those of my own.

I have been waiting to write this post for quite some time! About a month ago I purchased and then was sent a decal from Greek Is Me. I had been admiring the sorority state decals for quite some time and decided it was time to finally get me one. When the decal arrived I headed out to put it on my truck when my dad stopped me and told me to wait because I was soon to get a new car. Today is the day that I got my new car. I chose a Chevy Sonic because of the gas mileage it gets and I am absolutely in love with it. As soon as I got home, I knew it was time to add my decals!

The first decal I added was the Geometric State Sorority decal I had purchased in lime green!

Then I applied my monogram initials that Greek Is Me provided free of charge!

Now I am even more obsessed with my new car that I previously was!

The decals applied smoothly to my car and I was very impressed with how they looked. I also love the fact that you get to personalize your decal to your liking! I will definitely purchase from Greek Is Me next time I need a new decal!

What are your favorite style decals?

Ten Must Have Items for College

*This post is sponsored by Linqia through the Kleenex with Walmart Campaign. All opinions are those of my own.

 Nine days...

That's how long I have until I pack up and head to my new apartment. After transferring colleges and moving from a 10x11 dorm room to a full size apartment, I can't help but feel slightly overwhelmed by all that is going on in my life right now!

However, I do not feel as unprepared going into college this round as I did when I was a freshman. You've heard it a thousand times: "You need Twin XL sheets and a comforter" or "Don't forget an ironing board!" typical known items to pack for your dorm or apartment. However, there are a few items that are often left off all of the huge "101 Things to Bring to College" lists. I found myself running to Walmart many times on my first weekend away to pick up simple items I should have already had.

If you want to have an easy transition then I would advise picking up these items ASAP!

1. Kleenex -
You are about to be surrounded by thousands of people and you will more than likely get sick. Do us all a favor and keep your germs to yourself by using a Kleenex. If you don't get sick, you will probably use these to pick up dead bugs (because there will be bugs...). "But Kleenex boxes are ugly and won't match my theme!" That is so untrue. Kleenex has just launched a brand new line of Kleenex Expression Oval Facial Tissues in Chevron in many colors that will surely compliment your theme. If these don't cut it for you, check out the other Kleenex styles!

2. Rain Jacket -
You never notice how often it rains until you have to walk all the way across campus in a downpour. I learned this the hard way on my first day of classes when I did not have a rain jacket... Save yourself from the struggle of sitting through a class soaking wet and bring a rain jacket with you! An umbrella and rain boots also compliment this item!

3. Water Bottles -
When you come to college you will surely want to stock up on both reusable and disposable water bottles. Why? Because it gets hot outside and when you are walking in the heat it is advisable to stay hydrated. I usually am pro reusable water bottles (don't get me wrong, I love my Brita!) but sometimes time management is one of those skills that is lacking in my world and I realize that I have 5 minutes to get halfway across campus to my class and I just don't have time to fill up my bottle. These are the moments when it is handy to just grad a disposable water bottle and bolt to class. However, if you are really organized and fill up your reusable water bottles ahead of time, you will not run into this issues and I will commend you!

4. Desk Fan -
If you learn one thing from living in a dorm this is it: Central heating and air conditioning is not reliable. There was a stretch of time last April where it was hitting the 70s and 80s outside and central air conditioning would not work in any of the dorms. In an all girls dorm, where everyone is moody from the heat, you can imaging the chaos that ensued. The light at the end of the tunnel (for me at least) came from a cheap desk fan I happened to randomly pick up one day. It ran constantly for the few days we were out of AC and it kept me from going completely crazy!

5. Personal Safe -
This is one of those items that some would say isn't necessary, but I support getting one. You can pick up a cheap, small safe at Walmart for about $35. There will be certain papers and items that you do not want to go missing and if you keep it locked away there is a good chance they will not run away. I kept my Passport, Social Security Card, checkbooks, and some expensive jewelry locked away at all times. It is just an extra means of feeling safer while at college that is worth it in my opinion.

6. Jewelry Storage -
For those jewelry pieces that aren't really worth enough to keep locked away, but are still too important to become one tangled mess, invest in a jewelry organizer. There are so many cute hanging organizers on the market and this was one of the best pieces I had in my dorm room. It made choosing what accessories I wanted to wear each day a breeze!

7. Air Fresheners -
Do I really need to discuss this one? Dorm rooms and apartments are stale...

8. Vacuum -
Unless you want to be in my situation, (which was never vacuuming the floor and living in filth) I would highly suggest getting a small one of these. When my roommate and I had to move out, vacuuming was a requirement (or a fine) so we had to borrow one from someone else. If you are ok with borrowing one, go for it, but if you're like me (and hate people) then I would suggest having your own to keep your room clean!

9. Agenda -
This will be your college bible! Write down everything, from test and quizzes to paper deadlines to club meetings. But! Don't just write these things down, use this agenda and base your week/day off your deadlines! This will be your number one ticket to success in college. Stay organized!

10. Decorations -
Last but certainly not least bring some cute wall decorations. If you don't, you will feel like you are living in an insane asylum... Roomie and I didn't decorate our walls for weeks and it was awful. Find pictures and cute sayings or even better, DIY it! Pinterest was invented for a purpose, and it may just be finding college DIY projects!

Make-up by One Direction // Review and Giveaway

If you haven't heard about the newest brand of make-up soon to hit stores, then you are surely missing out! One Direction has decided to take a step away from their musical talents to launch a brand new make-up line. This line, called The Looks Collection, which hits U.S. stores August 11 (Macy's) and August 25, (Stage Stores, Dillard's, Beauty Brands, and Lord and Taylor) is comprised of three different styles based on each of the band's three albums. "Up All Night," "Take Me Home," and "Midnight Memories" are the three styles that come in their own collectible tin.

Up All Night

This kit is designed to show off your fun, flirty, and girly side. It includes "Taken" - Liquilights Glow Gloss: Powerhouse glitter pink gloss that glows to neon orange under UV light, 4 + 1 Eye Shadow Palette in playful blues and versatile neutrals, "I Should Have Kissed You" - bubblegum pink creme lipstick, "Little Black Dress" volumizing mascara in perfectly black, "Na Na Na" Aqua-blue metallic chrome nail varnish, "Stand Up" dark denim eye and body crayon, and a 5 piece decorator stencil set to decorate yourself, your stuff, and your friends with One Direction doodles.

Midnight Memories

This kit is designed to assist you in perfecting your inner rock and roll look. It includes "Through the Dark" - Liquilights Glow Gloss: Electrip glitter poppy lip gloss that glows neon red-orange under UV light, 4 + 1 Eye Shadow Palette in smoky shimmery grays and neutrals, "Best Song Ever" - crimson red creme lipstick, "Little Black Dress" volumizing mascara in perfectly black, "Right Now" liquefied metallic steel nail varnish, "Better than Words" blackest black eye and body crayon, and a 5 piece decorator stencil set to decorate yourself, your stuff, and your friends with One Direction doodles.

I was lucky enough to have been sent my own Take Me Home kit from BrandBacker. I was ecstatic to un-box it and try it out for an interview I had yesterday! The eye-shadows and lip gloss was perfect with my outfit and the make-up lasted well throughout the interview. My one complaint would be that the mascara seems to do more lengthening than volumizing so it wasn't quite thick enough for my taste. However, I will definitely be using this make-up kit for all my simple girl-next-door looks.

Be sure to check out the Make-up by One Direction page on Facebook to stay up to date with the information and also don't forget to enter to win your own Make-up by One Direction kit!

* This make-up kit was provided to me free of charge from BrandBacker. All opinions are my own.

The first of those things is the launch of Sisterhood Redefined! About a month ago a group of girls and I decided we wanted to create an area on the internet to share the daily lifestyle of a sorority girl. We planned and that where Sisterhood Redefined was born.
